REACH OUT AND READ

Reading Children To prevent another generation from falling through the cracks the Ubi Caritas’s Family Health Clinic participates in a national literacy program for children called Reach Out and Read (ROR). This program provides a new book to each child, 6 months to 5 years when coming for a regularly scheduled check-up.

Doctors and nurses know that growing up healthy means growing up with books. The ROR program provides the tools to help promote children’s development skills and later school success.

Help us put books in the hands of children growing up without them. Here are some ways your gift will make a difference:

  • $27.50 will provide 10 new books - one for each check-up visit from 6 months to 5 years
  • $55.00 will provide the first board book for 20 babies at the 6 month check-up
  • $110 will provide books for a young family with 4 children
  • $1,000 will provide books for a year to all the children who come to our clinic.

  • Become a Book Buddy with your annual or monthly gift which will ensure that ROR continues to reach additional children living in poverty. Simply check a giving option on the donation form. Click here for the form.
