Reading to Children prevents another generation from falling through the cracks the Ubi Caritas’ Family Health Clinic participates in a national literacy program for children called Reach Out and Read (ROAR). This program provides a new book to each child, 6 months to 5 years when the children come for a regularly scheduled check-up.

Doctors and nurses know that growing up healthy means growing up with books. The ROAR program provides the tools to help promote children’s development skills and later school success.

Help us put books in the hands of children so they do not grow up without them. Your generous gift will make a difference in a variety of ways:

  • $27.50 will provide 10 new books – one for each check-up visit from 6 months to 5 years
  • $55.00 will provide the first board book for 20 babies at the 6 month check-up
  • $110 will provide books for a young family with 4 children
  • $1,000 will provide books for a year to all the children who come to our clinic.
